SERBSPACE has been recognized as a Stakeholder and a Regional focus point of Space4Water Portal.
In 2016, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) signed an agreement to collaborate on their common goal of promoting the use of space-based technology for increased access to water.

Following recent United Nations conferences held in Russia and Pakistan, whereas SERBSPACE has presented fields of potential use of satellite programs in Serbia, SERBSPACE has initiated creation of a Space Working group within Serbian government.
In accordance with recommendations from mentioned conferences, e.g. recommendations regarding available free of charge satellite programs, SERBSPACE has submitted a report to Serbian government detailing further steps towards utilization of Space applications and technologies, including steps towards joining UNCOPUOS and cooperation with European Space Agency.

Having in mind that 2018 celebrates 50th anniversary of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space – UNISPACE+50, one of the objectives is Thematic Priority 7 (TP7) “Capacity-building for the 21st Century” and the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) on “Quality Education”. The upcoming 69th International Astronautical Congress shares the same idea, and that is a vision of more diverse space sector, with special emphasis on new, emerging countries.

Invited by the UN to participate at the UN/Russian federation workshop in Samara, Russia in November 2017, SERBSPACE’s president Milan Mijovic gave a presentation entitled: REGIONAL COOPERATION IN WESTERN BALKANS – A JOINT APPROACH TO SPACE SECTOR? Although firstly being limited to Balkans, presentation proposed ideas on the importance of cooperation among emerging countries, which could lead to one joint organization consisting of emerging and developing countries.
